A lot of schools offer merit scholarships for transfer students, so if you have good grades or were active in impressive extracurriculars, then you’re likely to lock down some great awards. But more importantly, a lot of colleges award scholarships to transfers just for being transfer students! So if you’re early in your transfer college search, be sure to look for schools that offer transfer-specific scholarships to get the most aid you possibly can. (A key way to know the schools that will support you the most as a transfer is to look for ones that are certified Transfer-Friendly Schools.)
