How Competitive Are Most Art School Programs?

It seems like there's a healthy dose of competition for admission to most art schools. But just how competitive are they? One experts weighs in.

Most performing and visual arts schools are very selective. However, just like with liberal arts or research colleges, some are more so than others. Realize too that there are conservatories that focus only on the arts, which tend to fall on the more selective end of the spectrum, as well as excellent liberal arts schools where the arts programs are within the college, tending to lean toward less selective. Know that talent speaks volumes in admission to these specialized programs, and if you’re confident in your abilities, you’ll likely impress and gain admission to a great arts program.
