Climb Higher at Kean

In today’s economy, an advanced degree is essential to increasing your earning potential and moving your career forward in business, public administration, health sciences, education, and more. At Kean University, we believe in offering a world-class education at an affordable price so you can advance your career without sacrificing important parts of your life along the way.

Real-world experiences
Kean offers more than 70 master’s, doctoral, and advanced certificate programs ranging from Public and Business Administration to Speech Therapy, Counseling, and Educational Leadership. Our award-winning faculty are devoted to providing full- and part-time graduate students with hands-on experiences and networking opportunities that lead to successful careers. Whether you’re gaining clinical experience in one of our health clinics or our 3D virtual reality “CAVE” facility, you’ll learn by researching and working alongside nationally recognized scholars.

Flexible schedules, convenient locations
The University offers graduate students the flexibility and convenience needed to earn a degree with weekday, evening, and weekend classes on two easily accessible campuses in Union and Toms River as well as through Kean Online. Our graduate programs are designed to fit your busy schedule, allowing you to juggle the demands of your family, career, and education on your own terms. New Jersey Transit has a train station adjacent to our main campus in Union that’s just a 30-minute ride from New York City for fast access to campus. Graduate housing, fitness centers, and many eateries are available for those who want to make Kean home during their studies.

Wenzhou-Kean campus in China
More than 7,000 miles away, the Wenzhou-Kean campus in China offers opportunities for Business students and others to gain a global skill set in an international but English-speaking environment.

Financing your education
At Kean, we believe a world-class education can come without a first-class price. That’s why Kean’s in-state and out-of-state tuition rates are among the lowest in the New York metro area. Graduate students have access to additional financial benefits like military grants and varied loan repayment options as well as additional external scholarships and grants. The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs on and off campus for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education-related expenses. Kean University also offers a limited number of graduate assistantships, which draw on a variety of different skills and require service on campus in exchange for having full tuition and fees waived.

Scholarship opportunities
Providing the best education at an affordable cost to our students is paramount. Many competitive graduate scholarship opportunities are provided by the Kean University Foundation though a single application. This application can be accessed and submitted between October 1 and March 1. Learn more at kean.edu/scholarships.

Kean alumni: Leaders across the globe
Kean alumni are proof that our formula works. Our graduates are leaders in state governments, multinational corporations, speech and occupational therapy clinics, and schools around the world. In fact, Kean alumnus Lamont Repollet, EdD, was selected as the 18th leader of Kean University in the spring of 2020. Repollet took on this role after a long and successful career in education, most recently serving as the Commissioner of Education under New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy for the past two years.
