Extraordinary growth leads to extraordinary things

Waynesburg University is a private Christian university near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that provides a valuable, personal, hands-on educational experience to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for lives of purpose and continued growth.

Grow in knowledge
Waynesburg offers more than 70 major concentrations as well as four integrated bachelor’s-to-master’s programs in Business, Counseling, Criminal Investigation, and Education. The University also offers graduate programs, with some available 100% online.

But what makes Waynesburg truly special is that academics aren’t just about class—they’re the foundation for a culture of growth, championed through academic excellence and personalized guidance that nurtures your mind, spirit, and future.

Grow in grace
Waynesburg helps students develop academically and professionally on the foundation of faith. Students may choose to practice their faith every Tuesday at chapel, in their classes, in prayer or Bible study groups, through their artwork, while they’re serving others, or in individual ways.

Grow through service
While guiding students in developing specific skills and talents, Waynesburgalso provides opportunities to applyand sharpen them through service. In fact, students, faculty, and staff spend approximately 50,000 hours each year working to improve the lives of others.

Service opportunities include service learning courses, international as well as domestic mission trips, theBonner Program, and personal service initiatives, among others.

• The Center for Campus Ministry meeting space has a living room–like atmosphere with couches, coffee, music, resources, and access to Campus Ministry staff. During the week, many campus Bible studies and small groups take place in this space.

• Upper Room features student-led worship and a student testimony every Sunday evening.

• The Fellowship of Christian Athletes empowers and encourages students to use their God-given potential to impact the world around them and to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Many of our athletic teams also hold Bible studies and incorporate prayer as part of their team values.

An Inside Look

What students are saying about us...

  • “Before coming to Waynesburg, I didn’t really know that this kind of Christ-centered community existed or that I could be a part of something like it. The #FaithatWU community has truly shown me that the Christian life was never designed to be lived in isolation—it’s so refreshing!”

    • Sophie Kipe
      Early Childhood Education
  • “Throughout the past three years at Waynesburg, I’ve seen the Lord radically expand the Christian community on campus. I came to school with a belief in God that has been transformed into an authentic relationship with Christ through the ministries and friendships in this community. I’m constantly blown away by the evidence of God’s goodness that has been interwoven throughout my years at Waynesburg.”

    • Lizzie Garren
      Forensic Investigation
  • “It wasn’t until coming to Waynesburg and being invited to attend events like Upper Room, chapel, and other Campus Ministry events that I really started growing in my understanding of who Christ is. I have been challenged to know Jesus for myself on a deeper and more personal level while forming friendships with professors, coaches, and other Christian students.”
