Discover your future—Discover UT Tyler
The University of Texas at Tyler is part of the prestigious University of Texas System, which encompasses 13 institutions located throughout the state. Founded in 1971, UT Tyler today enrolls 10,000+ students and consists of five colleges and three schools. With more than 80 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs offered, the University provides a wealth of learning opportunities and dynamic programs to students representing 167 Texas counties, 45 states, and 60+ nations of the world.
Most University classes are taught by professors, not teaching assistants because our learning environment is truly student-centered—we offer that private university quality at affordable public university prices. UT Tyler is a young, fast-growing university offering outstanding facilities such as the renowned R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center, a centerpiece of cultural entertainment in the East Texas region, and the Herrington Patriot Center, our state-of-the-art fitness center.
Patriot Pathways to transferring
UT Tyler partners with area community colleges to offer the Patriot Pathways program, which serves as a roadmap for prospective transfer students to visualize their possible degree plans. Students who intend to transfer should speak with an Academic Advisor to assist with planning, course selection, and creating the official degree plan upon admission to UT Tyler. The University offers rolling admissions, which means we accept and review applications throughout the entire year, so students looking to transfer can join us any time of the year. Additionally, transfer students applying for fall semesters will automatically be reviewed for available transfer scholarships.
