Admission Criteria and Requirements
Transfer students generally receive favorable admission review when they present a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all college-level coursework, provided they have attempted at least 24 semester credits, or 36 quarter credits, at institutionally accredited colleges or universities. If you have fewer than 24 semester credits, please see High School Information below. Please contact our transfer admission counselor with questions.
In addition to the application, essay, and letter of recommendation, Samford also requires the following from transfer students:
• College transcripts: Samford requires official college transcripts to be sent directly from your school. We will accept transcripts electronically via E-script and Docufide.
• High school information: Students who have completed fewer than 24 semester credits must also submit their official high school transcript and standardized test scores (ACT code: 0016; SAT code: 1302).
Important Dates
We welcome transfer students at the beginning of any term. Although there's no formal admission deadline, applicants are encouraged to complete the process as soon as possible. Delays in the admission process could adversely affect other processes important to eventual enrollment, including advising, registration, and financial aid.
