At the University of Mississippi in Oxford, members of our Health Professions Advising Office and representatives from nationally-ranked School of Pharmacy can help put you on a path to pursue professional degrees in Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Veterinary Medicine, and Physician Assistant. Your personal advisor can also talk to you about other programs we offer in partnership with other institutions to pursue a degree in Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Medical Technology, and many others.

As the only-full service office of its kind in the state, staff members in the Health Professions Advising Office counsel future health professionals and are there to help guide you toward a competitive application. The team even hosted more than 3,600 advising sessions last year! From mock one-on-one interviews for health professions applicants to trips to professional school campuses, their commitment to your success is why our medical school acceptance rate is 5% above the national average and our dental school acceptance rate is more than 25% above the national average.

Ranked among the top 25 best pharmacy schools nationally by U.S. and World Report in 2024, the Ole Miss School of Pharmacy boasts more than 100 full-time teaching and research faculty as well as more than 350 pharmacists serving as preceptors at 160 sites in Mississippi and the Mid-South. As a student pharmacist, you’ll learn and work alongside expert faculty and researchers who are combatting real-time health concerns like diabetes and cancer.
