Location and services
CSU is located just 100 miles southwest of Atlanta in Columbus, Georgia, the second-largest city in the state. The University has two campuses: a traditional campus located in midtown and a trendy downtown campus, home to our School of the Arts and the College of Education and Health Professions. For the utmost convenience, both campuses provide dining facilities, a bookstore, University Police, and more. Transfer students may choose to have a car on campus, but transportation is provided for students between both campuses.
Campus housing is also offered at both the main and RiverPark campuses; transfer students benefit from apartment-style residences with private bedrooms and bathrooms. Additionally, we offer a special transfer student orientation that is conveniently available online.

CSU makes every effort to transfer credits for academic work completed at other institutions. In general, courses completed at a regionally accredited college or university will transfer. Applicants may submit a special request for evaluation of transfer credits not originally accepted by the University. Applicants may also earn credit for Advanced Placement courses, CLEP, DANTES, Excelsior College Exams, the International Baccalaureate, the military, and professional experiences.
Columbus State University is an excellent choice for transfer students, but you should find out for yourself! We’re extending a personal invitation to you to come visit our campus. We offer visit opportunities specifically for transfer students both virtually and in person. Find out more about all our visit opportunities and register for your preferred events at admissions.columbusstate.edu/visit.
“The choice to transfer was the best one I have ever made. Being active in student organizations and working as a student assistant [at CSU] has given me a chance to grow as a student and as a person.”
