Discover your impact
In the School of Sciences and the School of Engineering at Christian Brothers University, you’ll be immersed in a world of discovery and innovation, experience a uniquely individualized learning environment, and be surrounded by the immense opportunities of a major US city. CBU is a leader in STEM education. The School of Sciences is widely regarded for the successful preparation of students for graduate and professional schools. Our School of Engineering is the oldest ABET-accredited engineering school in Memphis. Choose a STEM education that offers the best of both worlds: a lot of hands-on, real-world learning opportunities and small, highly personalized classes with expert faculty.
Hands-on, real-world learning
CBU students learn by doing. In addition to having labs with most science lecture courses, every science degree has a research requirement and opportunity during senior year. Engineering majors collaborate with other students on hands-on projects throughout the curriculum, and they're required to complete a comprehensive senior project as well.
No 300-seat auditorium classrooms
At CBU, all classes and labs are small and taught by faculty members in a very personalized and interactive setting. Students get to know their professors, and it's these close mentoring relationships that distinguish a CBU education.
Professional research
Here, you can participate in high-level research as an undergraduate student, an opportunity often reserved for graduate-level students at larger institutions. You may even have the opportunity to present your research at professional conferences.
Practical internships
As a science or engineering student, you’ll likely participate in one or more professional internships. You’ll work alongside practitioners in your field in a real-world work environment, gaining invaluable experience and seeing your area of study up close and firsthand.
A vibrant campus life
At CBU, you’ll enjoy not only a top-rated education but a full college experience. You’ll get involved in student organizations, which offer both social and academic activities. You’ll also engage in a variety of campus activities and events as well as our active Living Learning Communities.
