Founded in 1851 as Philadelphia’s Jesuit university, Saint Joseph’s University prepares students for a changing world by focusing on academic excellence and exploration. With an intellectual tradition distinguished by a liberal arts core foundation and diversified by strong professional programs in Business, Nursing, Health and Science, and Education, Saint Joseph’s students are empowered, challenged, and supported by faculty members to follow their own learning path.
Undergraduate students study in the University’s five schools and colleges—the College of Arts and Sciences, the Erivan K. Haub School of Business, the School of Education and Human Development, the School of Health Professions, and the School of Nursing and Allied Health. Upon graduation, 96% of students are employed, pursuing advanced degrees, or volunteering in prestigious service programs. The University’s network of more than 110,000 proud alumni keeps alive the rallying cry: "The Hawk Will Never Die."

“St. Joe's is a community where people want to see and help their peers succeed. From our amazing professors to my fellow students, everyone here is committed to looking out for one another. I think when you get to college and become immersed in college life that’s the most important part of any university’s culture."
“I have never felt more like myself in my life than I have in the last few years I have spent at St. Joe's. The ability to explore my interests in my coursework and extracurriculars has helped shape who I am and what my goals are for myself moving forward.”
“Something I learned at SJU is to do the things you enjoy the most because college is all about finding out more about yourself as a person.”
