Jarrid James Whitney, EdM, is the Executive Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena. Jarrid came to Caltech in the fall of 2010 after holding several positions in admission and financial aid at Cornell University (his alma mater), Dartmouth College, Stanford University, Notre Dame de Namur University, and most recently Santa Clara University. He is originally from a small town in rural, upstate New York where he was the first in his family to attend a four-year institution. It was at Cornell where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and developed a passion for access and equity for underserved populations, which led him to his work in college admission and financial aid. Jarrid also attended Harvard University Graduate School of Education where he earned a master's in education with a focus on higher education.
