Although high school students always wish that the process was easier, the nice thing about the supplement is that it allows the applicant to showcase more of what makes them a good fit for the school. For example at Caltech, we offer a supplement so that we can ask for more information about a student’s math and science passion, something that doesn’t always come out as easily in the main Common Application. Yes, you have to submit more short essays and offer a long essay response, but it helps us to understand the applicant’s drive and fit for our type of education. The supplement is an additional application that many colleges require but in the long run, it will offer you more of an opportunity to showcase your background, passion, and drive.
Not sure what the Common Application is? Don’t worry, our experts have the answer to that too!
