Charlotte M. Klaar, PhD, is the founder and Director of Klaar College Consulting LLC (KCC), based in Brunswick, Maryland. Dr. Klaar is a Certified Educational Planner who serves clients in the Greater Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia areas through office locations in Maryland (Rockville and Brunswick) and Northern Virginia (Reston, Fairfax, and Vienna). Through Skype, Charlotte works with students and parents nationwide.
Charlotte is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), and the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC). She has served as an instructor in IECA’s Summer Training Institute for the past 12 years and has taught for both the College Counseling program at UCLA Extension and the Certificate in Independent Counseling at UC-Irvine. She is trained to administer and interpret the Holland Self-Directed Search (SDS), the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), and the Strong Interest Inventory.
Charlotte’s approach to the college selection and application process is to recognize that the process belongs to the student and it is her role in it to facilitate that process by guiding the student to self-discovery so that the best college match can be determined and the application process can proceed smoothly. She has worked successfully with students and their families for 17 years and loves her work.
